Balkans Group is pleased to announce the winners of the Essay Competition. The competition (open to members from 16-30 years old) gave students the opportunity to share their views on a variety of issues affecting the representation of women in decision making positions and the gender quota as set out by the Law on General Elections.
180 Submissions were received on themes such as
- The importance of women’s participation in Kosovo politics.
- Changing Kosovo’s current gender quota for fair and equal gender representation and.
- Promoting women in decision-making positions in Kosovo.
Essays were reviewed and scored, and, in the end, the following students were awarded:
1st Place: Loresa Statovci “Do Women Speak with a Different voice in Kosovo’s Politics?
2nd Place: Artmir Ibra “The Best (Wo)Man for the Job”
3rd Place: Ndriqim Imeri “The role of women in representing the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo”
